Nice site, Sharon. I wanted to give you a list of more books concerning the "Sand Creek Massacre". In my opinion, one of the best is "Blood At Sand Creek" by Bob Scott. Other good books to research the topic are: The Fighting Cheyennes by George Bird Grinnell I Stand By Sand Creek by William R. Dunn The Indian Wars
of 1864 through the Sand Creek Massacre (articles from the Rocky Mountain
News) by Scott C. Williams. The Sand Creek Fight by Fred Werner Life of George Bent by George Hyde These are a few of the references we used in our search
for the location of the "Sand Creek Massacre". We submitted A 42 page report to
the NPS which I believe you can still get if you ask them for it. An Abstract of our report is found on pages 365 and 366 of the NPS Volume One Site Location

I came to check out the site because I am writing a piece of fact-based fiction
on Sand Creek. I was hoping to get a better idea of the aesthetics of the land.

A beautiful and well done site. Really gits yah!! I got here trying to find some info
on the location of where the Sand Creek Massacre was/is. That and the location
of the "Old Fort Lyon" of around 1864. I am taking my family on a auto trip this
coming summer to visit civil war sites and Historical Native American sites.
