Welcome to Eads, Colorado


Eads is the Kiowa County seat, and the largest community in Kiowa County, Colorado, with a population of approximately 850 residents.

Located at the junction of Highways 287 and 96, Eads is the gateway to the Great Plains Reservoirs and is the hub of Kiowa County activity.

Eads was founded in 1887 during construction of the railroad.  Named after the construction engineer who built the bridge across the Mississippi River at St. Louis, Missouri, Eads has been the Kiowa County seat since 1901.
