Family Services are available in Kiowa County, Colorado from the Department of Social Services, the Baby Bear Hugs Program, Southeast Family Guidance and Mental Health, New Lifestyles, and the
Domestic Safety Resource Center.
Baby Bear Hugs
The Baby Bear Hugs program provides services to families with newborn or very young children through the use of community volunteers.
Southeast Mental Health
Services
Southeast Mental Health Services provides an array of services to assist individuals who are in need of mental health services, such as suicide crisis counseling, chronic mental illness, and crisis intervention.
A clinician from Southeast Mental Health Services is present in Eads one Friday
each month. The local
office is located at the Kiowa County Nursing Service located at 1206 Luther in

Domestic Safety Resource Center
The Domestic Safety Resource Center provides an array of services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, under the direction of Executive Director Doris Hughes.
The center offers a seven day per week, 24 hours a day crisis hotline (1-800-639-4895, or 719-336-4357).
The center offers crisis intervention services, counseling for victims of domestic violence, or sexual assault. The center also assists victims in obtaining financial or legal assistance.
The center also has a court advocacy program for victims and offers specialized counseling for the children of victims through its child advocate program.
There is also an educational component designed to teach victims, and potential victims about domestic violence prevention. The center also operates support groups which meet every Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
